Leak Detection Services
Water leaks can be costly, not to mention a major inconvenience, so it’s important to know how to diagnose them.
The longer you let a water leak go, the more damage it will do to your home and the more money you will spend on repairs.
Leak detection is a service that most homeowners are aware of, but few have experience with.
The process involves the use of specialized equipment to find leaks in plumbing systems, walls, roofs, and other water-filled areas.
Leak detection can be a tricky process. You may have to poke around your home and yard, or even call in a professional if you’re not sure what you’re looking for.

Why you may need leak detection services
Here are some common leak symptoms:
Sudden spike in your water bill.
If you’ve been seeing a huge jump in your monthly water bill, it might be due to a leak or other problem with your plumbing system.
Moldy smell.
Water that sits for long periods of time can breed mold and mildew, which will give off an unpleasant odor.
This is especially common in crawlspaces and basements where there is no circulation of air, but sometimes leaks occur above ground level as well.
Moisture stains on the walls or ceiling.
If you notice moisture stains growing in size on the wall or ceiling, this is a sure sign that there’s a leak somewhere nearby.
If you suspect that you have a leak in your home, the first thing to do is to isolate the area where the water is coming from.
This will help you determine if it is actually a leak or just condensation.
You can do this by listening carefully for any drips or puddles — if you hear any, then you’ve got yourself a leak!
You might also want to check your water meter before leaving on vacation — if there’s no movement on it after 24 hours, then you’ve got a leak somewhere in your house (and it could be costing you hundreds of dollars every month).
Turn off all appliances and leave them off for at least an hour.
This can be done by turning off the breaker or removing the fuse from the fuse box. Then wait for an hour or so.
If after this time there are still puddles or dripping water in your home, then you may have a leak somewhere else in your plumbing system.
You can also turn off any running water that has been left on for more than an hour, such as bathtubs and sinks with faucets left running.
If there is still dripping after doing this, then there is likely a problem with your plumbing system that needs to be addressed right away before it causes further damage to your property.
You can use a flashlight to check areas where leaks are common such as toilets and faucets that are attached directly to pipes instead of wall-mounted sinks because they tend to wear out over time, especially if they haven’t been maintained regularly. Look for signs of drips coming
If you’re experiencing any of these common problems, don’t wait until it’s too late.
